Originally,
the term ‘Green Room’ referred to an off-stage room in
a theatre where performers could rest while they were waiting for
their cues.
A lot of
theatres now don’t have green rooms, often through lack of space.
These days,
the term applies as much — if not more often — to the
room adjoining the stage (stage left) where cast members and performers
patiently and quietly await their calls to the stage.
In our case,
it refers to a page on the website for Musicians wanting to be considered
as performers at the festival rather than an area set aside behind
the stage where musicians prepare before their performances.
