Sugarcane Collins

All the way from Cape York in the hot and humid tropical far north of Australia, where the rainforest meets the reef and where there are only two seasons, wet and dry, comes Sugarcane Collins. With fire and skill and passion and commitment, Sugarcane plays guitar and sings with the deep heart of a bluesman. Sugarcane Collins is a one of a kind singer-songwriter-guitarist. Inspired by the slashing delta blues of Charley Patton and Son House, the sparkling ragtime of Blind Blake and the powerful songster traditions of Leadbelly, Sugarcane sings passionately with a voice that is big and soulful, writes songs that are potent and rich with imagery and attacks the guitar with a driving rhythmic swing.

Randy Oxford Band

It Wouldn't Be Right to Not Have Randy Here Again .... The Randy Oxford Band consists of 6 veteran musicians, each bringing a unique background and talent to the band. Randy Oxford - trombonist, "Blues Performer of the Year," and notorious wild man- has been honored more than 25 times since returning to his home state of Washington several years ago, following a European Tour of duty with the U.S. Army band.  He has won multiple Best Horn awards, Entertainer of the Year, Keeping the Blues Alive, and induction into the Washington Blues Society's Hall of Fame. Randy has become a Northwest favorite, hosting popular invitational jams at various venues in the area, as well as leading his own very successful band.
The Randy Oxford Band is blessed with five outstanding vocalists, each bringing his/her own special style to make this band's repertoire as varied and interesting as the members themselves.  Patti Allen is the featured vocalist, a blues veteran who has been recognized by the Washington Blues Society as Entertainer of the Year, Best Female Vocalist, and Hall of Famer.  Her vocals are soulful, gritty, and full of energy in the classic, Chicago Blues style. Dominique Stone, whose bass style adds an element of funk to the rhythm section, has a smooth, satiny voice and a playful nature that often results in spontaneous dance moves and stage antics that infect the rest of the band.  Riky Hudson, on drums, adds vocals that generally rest in the baritone range, although he provides the high end of the harmonies.  He specializes in drawing the audience into his songs, i.e. "All right, boys and girls - it's sing-along time!"  Rafael Tranquilino hails from Mexico City and sings "straight ahead" blues - in Spanish! He's rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the hottest young guitar slingers around.  Brian Feist, the newest member of the band, is known for his thoughtful, intricate guitar style and smooth, soulful voice. The two guitarists back each other during solos and, with the addition of Randy's killer trombone, help give the band it's characteristic big, rich sound. In addition, the interplay between the performers - both musically and visually - provides the audience with something entertaining to watch, as well as to hear.

Flambeau with Tom Rigney

Tom Rigney, the fiery, electrifying violinist/composer, joins forces with some of the finest musicians on the San Francisco roots music scene to form Tom Rigney and Flambeau, a band that will tear the roof off of anyplace that has one and raise the spirits of everyone around. Flambeau showcases his passionate, virtuoso fiddling, his commanding stage presence, his range, depth, and originality as a composer, and of course, those notorious red boots. His bandmates are veterans of the great bands of Charles Brown, Queen Ida, Roy Rogers, Clifton Chenier, and others, and together they generate enough heat and energy to ignite a dance floor or lift an audience to its feet.
Flambeau specializes in fiery Cajun and zydeco two-steps, low-down blues, funky New Orleans grooves, and heartbreakingly beautiful ballads and waltzes. Most of the repertoire is composed by Rigney, but they also mix in a few classics from the Cajun/zydeco/New Orleans songbook. And if, along the way, you pick up a trace of Rigney’s Irish roots or a little Swing and roots Rock and Roll, it just makes the musical gumbo that much tastier.
Voted Best Cajun/Zydeco Band of 2004 by the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame, Tom Rigney and Flambeau are making some serious noise on the American Roots Music scene. Flambeau has been tearing things up at festivals, dances, and concerts all over the continent--from the Ft. Lauderdale Cajun Crawfish Festival to the Edmonton Blues Festival to the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee to the Alaska State Fair.
